Send Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee home.

Wow! Talk about out of touch and disengaged from the people you serve. When you’re listening to your voters turn the cell phone off and act like you care. Of Course Lee not known for being one of the brightest congressional leaders in the house had this to say about the phone call.

"I dialed the hotline number to give a better answer. I said to the audience, they may not have heard me, that I am trying to get an answer," said Congresswoman Lee in one of her cable interviews.

Miller disagreed. "She was getting phone calls and finding out who was in the room, that she needed to say hello to and that's what I believe what was going on right then. After I was done talking, she would say, 'I would like to welcome,'" said Miller.

And that is only one area where their stories differ on what took place at the town hall meeting. Congresswoman Lee says they are now buddies and will hang out together in Washington D.C.

"Now I consider her a friend. I invited her to Washington," said Congresswoman Lee in a cable interview.

That was news to Miller.

Jimmy Carter part two?

It appears from watching the first 75+ days of the Obama administration that Barack Hussein Obama is an amateur and in way over his head and a continuation of a second Jimmy Carter presidency only with a smoother delivery. If anything the first months have been exactly as I predicted a train wreck. Not only has been horrible on international issues but he has tripled the national debt with his give a ways to special interest groups.

First we had Obama bowing to the Saudi King and apologizing to the rest of the world for our past transgressions as seen through the eyes of a Marxist named Barry Sorrento (aka Barack Obama). Next there was the inaction against the North Korean when the North Koreans were allowed to launch a test missile over Japan another act of war. That missile should have been shot out of the sky or bombed on the launch pad, take your pick.


I would like to remind NOBAMA what he doesn’t appear to understand there is no negotiating with terrorists, there is no appeasement and the only solution is blowing these pirates off the face of the earth. This is the only language that they understand. The minute that captain is released, rescued or killed by the terrorists these two bit street thugs should not get a minute older and they should be wiped from the face of the earth or vaporized, let them become martyrs.

Lastly, there should be no rewarding these thugs with money. Don’t blame me because I didn’t vote for this light weight. In a time of crisis we need strong leaders not nuanced half whit’s.

Senior Obama administration officials are debating how to address a potential terrorist threat to U.S. interests from a Somali extremist group, with some in the military advocating strikes against its training camps. But many officials maintain that uncertainty about the intentions of the al-Shabab organization dictates a more patient, nonmilitary approach.

Al-Shabab, whose fighters have battled Ethiopian occupiers and the tenuous Somali government, poses a dilemma for the administration, according to several senior national security officials who outlined the debate only on the condition of anonymity.

The organization's rapid expansion, ties between its leaders and al-Qaeda, and the presence of Americans and Europeans in its camps have raised the question of whether a preemptive strike is warranted. Yet the group's objectives have thus far been domestic, and officials say that U.S. intelligence has no evidence it is planning attacks outside Somalia.

An attack against al-Shabab camps in southern Somalia would mark the administration's first military strike outside the Iraq and Afghanistan-Pakistan war zones. The White House discussions highlight the challenges facing the Obama team as it attempts to distance itself from the Bush administration, which conducted at least five military strikes in Somalia. The new administration is still defining its rationale for undertaking sensitive operations in countries where the United States is not at war.

Some in the Defense Department have been frustrated by what they see as a failure to act. Many other national security officials say an ill-considered strike would have negative diplomatic and political consequences far beyond the Horn of Africa. Other options under consideration are increased financial pressure and diplomatic activity, including stepped-up efforts to resolve the larger political turmoil in Somalia.

The most recent discussion of the issue took place early this week, just before the unrelated seizure of a U.S. commercial ship in the Indian Ocean by Somali pirates who are holding the American captain of the vessel hostage for ransom.

This is my liberal moron of the week. Nick Coleman is a fricken moron. This is what happens when you let liberals run unchecked, especially at a big city newspaper. The thing that really makes no sense to me is liberals fail to undertand that gun free zones are nothing more than a danger area. That is why these deranged idoits pray on areas like Virginia Tech (gun free zone) because they know there will be no one there with a conealed weapon.

The die-in (it was called a lie-in, actually) was organized by Protect Minnesota, an umbrella group representing five gun-control organizations pushing for tighter rules on sales and universal background checks on buyers. Thirty-two people wore black T-shirts that said, "Minnesotans Against Being Shot" as well as ribbons of maroon and orange (Virginia Tech's colors) made by families of the victims. One by one, to the solemn beat of a drum, they went down on the Capitol steps and remained motionless, as if asleep.

It was like the state Senate, but without the pompous speeches.

OK, it was one of those media events that is easy to mock and, indeed, it was mocked by a few underemployed members of the gun-rights lobby who couldn't resist the temptation to spoil a somber moment by holding up frat boy signs to the effect that a teacher or student packing heat could have stopped the carnage, which is the kind of thing I wonder about when a cop gets shot.

Guns don't kill people. People with guns kill people. And sometimes people with guns kill other people with guns. It's as complicated as our feelings, and nobody's come up with a convincing response to slaughters such as Virginia Tech, especially proposals to let college kids carry guns on campus. Rep. Tony Cornish, a Republican from Good Thunder, introduced one such obscenely timed proposal Wednesday. Are you kidding, Cornish? Have you ever been to a kegger at Mankato or St. Cloud or the U of M and thought, "Cool! I hope these dudes have guns!"

It would appear that Obama thinks he has the nomination locked up already. Seriously, I really have enjoyed the petty knife fight between Obama and Hillary. It's getting to be pretty entertaining, but comeon Obama must know that you can't use a projectile weapon to hunt ducks, it is against the law. Any moron knows you hunt ducks with a shotgun. I would like to see the picture of Hillary in a duck blind.

I think I can see the strategy, just let Obama keep talking and he will step on it soon enough.
