Today, the Senate voted 87-11 to adopt the DeMint Amendment, which would prohibit the FCC from reinstating the Fairness Doctrine, a defunct policy that regulated conflicting views on the airwaves.
Introduced by Sens. DeMint and Thune, the amendment was added to the D.C. Voting Rights bill.
Last week, the White House confirmed President Obama’s opposition to reimposing the Fairness Doctrine.
Alex Isenstadt has provided a list of the Democratic Senators who voted 'no': Jeff Bingaman (N.M.), Kent Conrad (N.D.), Byron Dorgan (N.D.), Dianne Feinstein (Calif.), Tom Harkin (Iowa), Tim Johnson (S.D.), John Kerry (Mass.), Jack Reed (R.I.), John D. Rockefeller (W.Va.), Bernie Sanders (Vt.), Sheldon Whitehouse (R.I.).

Conrad and Dorgan want the Fairness Doctrine
Wouldn't you know it, that the two North Dakota senators are against free speech, they voted for the Fairness Doctrine and are against free speech. Last summer I wrote an email to Senator Byron Dorgan, Senator Kent Conrad and Congressman Earl Pomeroy, expressing my concerns about some on the left wanting to re-enact the fairness doctrine. The only one that I got a letter back from was Senator Conrad who basically said that he was all for the Fairness Doctrine, the other two didn't even acknowledge my email. I guess they no longer have to address their constitutes concerns anymore.

Sergeant were captured by terrorists in Iraq ...
The leader of the terrorists told them he'd grant each of them one last request before they were beheaded and dragged naked through the streets.
Katie Couric said, 'Well, I'm a Southerner, so I'd like one last plate of fried chicken.'
The leader nodded to an underling who left and returned with the chicken. Couric ate it all and said, 'Now I can die content.'
Charlie Gibson said, ‘I’m living in ' New York , so I'd like to hear the song, The Moon and Me, one last time.' The terrorist leader nodded to another terrorist who had studied the Western world and knew the music. He returned with some rag-tag musicians and played the song. Gibson was satisfied.
Brian Williams said, 'I'm a reporter to the end. I want to take out my tape recorder and describe the scene here and what's about to happen. Maybe, someday, someone will hear it and know that I was on the job till the end.' The leader directed an aide to hand over the tape recorder and Williams dictated his comments. He then said, 'Now I can die happy.'
The leader turned and said, 'And now, Mr. U.S. Marine, what is your final wish?
'Kick me in the ass,' said the Marine. 'What?' asked the leader, 'Will you mock us in your last hour?' No, I'm NOT kidding. I want you to kick me in the ass,' insisted the Marine. So the leader shoved him into the yard and kicked him in the ass. The Marine went sprawling, but rolled to his knees, pulled a 9 mm pistol from inside his cammies and shot the leader dead.
In the resulting confusion, he emptied his sidearm on six terrorists, then with his knife he slashed the throat of one, and with an AK-47, which he took, sprayed the rest of the terrorists killing another 11. In a flash, all of them were either dead or fleeing for their lives.
As the Marine was untying Couric, Gibson, and Williams, they asked him, 'Why didn't you just shoot them all in the first place? Why did you ask him to kick you in the ass?' 'What?' replied the Marine, 'and have you three assholes report that I was the aggressor....?

So much for hope and change.
What how can that be? I must say that I am shocked. I find it interesting that this report has even come to light since the the Obama mania media hangs on every word that comes out of OBAMA's mouth. I can't imagine that this would happen under the Messiah's watch. I mean how dare they. (Yes this is dripping with sarcasm)
Exclusive: Lawyer says Guantanamo abuse worse since Obama
Wed Feb 25, 2009 By Luke Baker
LONDON (Reuters) - Abuse of prisoners at Guantanamo Bay has worsened sharply since President Barack Obama took office as prison guards "get their kicks in" before the camp is closed, according to a lawyer who represents detainees.
Abuses began to pick up in December after Obama was elected, human rights lawyer Ahmed Ghappour told Reuters. He cited beatings, the dislocation of limbs, spraying of pepper spray into closed cells, applying pepper spray to toilet paper and over-forcefeeding detainees who are on hunger strike.
The Pentagon said on Monday that it had received renewed reports of prisoner abuse during a recent review of conditions at Guantanamo, but had concluded that all prisoners were being kept in accordance with the Geneva Conventions.
"According to my clients, there has been a ramping up in abuse since President Obama was inaugurated," said Ghappour, a British-American lawyer with Reprieve, a legal charity that represents 31 detainees at Guantanamo.

This is scarey stuff.
Call you senator and legislator and let them know that this is unacceptable. You liberties and freedoms are under attack. We can not sit ideally by and watch the democrats and the RINO's in the congress trample on our second amendment rights. Wouldn't you know it, that a democrat from NOBAMA's home state of Illinois is the one sponsoring this very bad bill. What part of infringed upon do they not understand?

Pelosi, Reid have "failed," Shuler says
Nice to see that there are still some Dem's that aren't drinking the Reid, Pelosi, NOBAMA kool-aid. Nice to see someone stand up to the silliness that is plaguing our congressional leaders. I would be willing to bet Shuler is from a conservative district that is facing a stiff re-election bid if he doesn't break from the Marxist's in his party.
Rep. Heath Shuler (D-N.C) has further ingratiated himself with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi — not — by declaring that Pelosi and Harry Reid "failed" the bipartisanship test on stimulus. "In order for us to get the confidence of America, it has to be done in a bipartisan way," Shuler said in Raleigh following an economic forum, according to the AP. "We have to have everyone —Democrats and Republicans standing on the stage with the administration — saying, 'We got something done that was efficient, stimulative and timely.'" Here's the kicker: "I truly feel that's where maybe House leadership and Senate leadership have really failed."
Shuler, rumored to be mulling a '10 Senate run, was one of 11 House Democrats to vote "no" on the stimulus and was already deep in Pelosi's doghouse. Now he'll have to build a Harry Reid wing.
What part of illegal do they not understand?
This is the kind of stuff that really makes my blood boil. The minute these people cross the border they have committed a crime. We should be thanking this rancher for doing his part to keep illegal Aliens out of our country not having him charged in court. If your having hard time seeing the point here, the illegal invaders committed a crime by crossing the border, then they trespassed on this ranchers land, finally by destroying his property they have committed another crime.
16 illegals sue Arizona rancher --- Claim violation of rights as they crossed his land
Jerry Seper --- Monday, February 9, 2009
An Arizona man who has waged a 10-year campaign to stop a flood of illegal immigrants from crossing his property is being sued by 16 Mexican nationals who accuse him of conspiring to violate their civil rights when he stopped them at gunpoint on his ranch on the U.S.-Mexico border.
Roger Barnett, 64, began rounding up illegal immigrants in 1998 and turning them over to the U.S. Border Patrol, he said, after they destroyed his property, killed his calves and broke into his home.
His Cross Rail Ranch near Douglas, Ariz., is known by federal and county law enforcement authorities as "the avenue of choice" for immigrants seeking to enter the United States illegally.
Look at the cost of the Bail out.
This is enough to make your head spin. We are mortgaging our kids future. I think it is time for the American people to flood their senators and congressional leaders phones in Washington and let them know that we do not appreciate it. This is disgusting.
U.S. Taxpayers Risk $9.7 Trillion on Bailout Programs
Feb. 9 (Bloomberg) -- The stimulus package the U.S. Congress is completing would raise the government’s commitment to solving the financial crisis to $9.7 trillion, enough to pay off more than 90 percent of the nation’s home mortgages.
The Federal Reserve, Treasury Department and Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation have lent or spent almost $3 trillion over the past two years and pledged up to $5.7 trillion more. The Senate is to vote this week on an economic-stimulus measure of at least $780 billion. It would need to be reconciled with an $819 billion plan the House approved last month.
Only the stimulus bill to be approved this week, the $700 billion Troubled Asset Relief Program passed four months ago and $168 billion in tax cuts and rebates enacted in 2008 have been voted on by lawmakers. The remaining $8 trillion is in lending programs and guarantees, almost all under the Fed and FDIC. Recipients’ names have not been disclosed.
“We’ve seen money go out the back door of this government unlike any time in the history of our country,” Senator Byron Dorgan, a North Dakota Democrat, said on the Senate floor Feb. 3. “Nobody knows what went out of the Federal Reserve Board, to whom and for what purpose. How much from the FDIC? How much from TARP? When? Why?”
Financial Rescue
American's want tax cuts.
Here is the latest from Rasmussen reports: It seems that they don't want to continue this march towards marxism and socialism.
As Congress debates the economic stimulus plan initially proposed by President Obama, would you like to see the plan include more tax cuts and less government spending, more government spending and less tax cuts, or would you rather see the plan pass pretty much as it is today?
62% More tax cuts and less government spending
14% More government spending and less tax cuts
20% Pass pretty much as it is today
5% Not sure

Beck on NOBAMA.
You know Beck is pretty accurate on NOBAMA. We are marching towards marxism at a very high rate of speed.

Democrats want to limit free speech.
I don't think these morons get it; this is another potential over stretch for the Left, right now they are fumbling and bumbling their stimulus package, which is more or less a march towards a Stalinist tyranny. All of this stuff the left is trying to sneak into the stimulas bill is disgusting. Now left is goiong trying to sneek some version of the fairness doctrine into law.
Every day we lose more of our liberties and we are racing towards a marxist state. Funny a lot of the other dictators like to limit the free press and radio stations. Hugo Chavez is probably proud of these attempts.
Free speech should not be infringed upon, so now the left wants to squash oppostion speech. Personally, if the democrats try to shove this legislation down the American public's throats it will spend years in the courts before anything comes out of this.

WASHINGTON – Another Democratic U.S. senator has gone on record as supporting the reinstatement of the so-called "Fairness Doctrine," adding, "I feel like that's gonna happen."
Sen. Debbie Stabenow, D-Mich., told radio host and WND columnist Bill Press yesterday when asked about whether it was time to bring back the so-called "Fairness Doctrine": "I think it's absolutely time to pass a standard. Now, whether it's called the Fairness Standard, whether it's called something else – I absolutely think it's time to be bringing accountability to the airwaves. I mean, our new president has talked rightly about accountability and transparency. You know, that we all have to step up and be responsible. And, I think in this case, there needs to be some accountability and standards put in place."
Stabenow's husband, Tom Athans, was executive vice president of the left-leaning talk radio network Air America. He left the network in 2006, when it filed for bankruptcy, and co-founded the TalkUSA Radio Network.

Ted Nugent humor.
Props to my buddy for sending me this email it is too funny to now share.
Ted Nugent, rock star and avid bow hunter from Michigan , was being interviewed by a French journalist, an animal rights activist. The discussion came around to deer hunting. The journalist asked, 'What do you think is the last thought in the head of a deer before you shoot him?
Is it, 'Are you my friend?' or is it 'Are you the one who killed my brother?' Nugent replied, 'Deer aren't capable of that kind of thinking. All they care about is, what am I going to eat next, who am I going to screw next, and can I run fast enough to get away. They are very much like the French.' The interview ended.

Liberalism unchecked?
This is what happens when you let Liberalism run around unchecked. Now some moron suggests that couples that have more than 2 children is unbearable burden on the environment. After this winter I can't see anyone saying with a straight face that there is global warming. I also don't want to hear this bullshit that this cold weather is because of man either. This week Al Gore's appearance at the capital on Global warming was delayed because of an ice storm. You can't make this stuff up.
Two children should be limit, says green guru Sarah-Kate Templeton,
COUPLES who have more than two children are being “irresponsible” by creating an unbearable burden on the environment, the government’s green adviser has warned.
Jonathon Porritt, who chairs the government’s Sustainable Development Commission, says curbing population growth through contraception and abortion must be at the heart of policies to fight global warming. He says political leaders and green campaigners should stop dodging the issue of environmental harm caused by an expanding population.
A report by the commission, to be published next month, will say that governments must reduce population growth through better family planning.
