Elks in NW Minnesota?

My father sent me this email. Someone took a picture of the big bull elk that wandered in from Canada and is living and eating alfalfa in the field just north of Marvin's plant number 7 there in Warroad and posted it on wiktel.com.

I wonder if we could have the Border Patrol him charged being in the USA illegally because they didn't stop by Customs?

I am surprised more of them don't cross the border. Are they not native to Minnesota?

There's a well known herd around Grygla, MN. The guys at work that spend time outdoors over there seem them regularly.

Hey, did you make it out pheasant hunting Sunday? Let me know if you've got anymore trips planned through the end of the year and want someone to tag along.
