Marco Rubio is a rising star in the Republican Party and a politician that is endorsed by the "Tea Party" and yet we are to believe that he is an extremist... So balancing the budget and now spending more than we take in is considered extreme. I would love to see Obumble debate Marcio Rubio because I think he would eat Obumble's lunch. I love listening to this man talk and I think he has a bright future in the Republican party and the senate.

Senator Dick Durbin we haven't passed a budget because of the Republicans.

There are so many dishonest politicians and so little time to challenge all of them. The Dems have had a Super Majority in the House and Senate for almost two years and couldn't get a budget passed, yet it's the Republican's fault. The GOP held no power what so ever. Does Dick Durbin think we are that stupid?

Ousted clinic draws Manitobans south of the border

Dozens of Manitobans are forking over hundreds of dollars in North Dakota to have tests done at a private health clinic that was kicked out of Manitoba last month.
The clinic, Mobile Life Screening, charges clients $129 US for vascular screening tests, which can detect clogged arteries that could be warning signs of heart attacks, strokes or other health problems.

The same tests are available in Canada at no charge, but only on a doctor's orders.
The clinic closed its doors in Manitoba in January after the provincial health department abruptly changed its mind about allowing it to operate. The clinic had provided the service to several hundred Manitobans before closing.

The clinic has since reopened south of the U.S. border, and is offering tests at several locations in North Dakota, a few hours' drive from Winnipeg. Former Winnipegger Randy Spielvogel, who runs the clinic, said all but five of the 45 people booked at the clinic on its first day of service on Thursday were Manitobans.
"The story we get from Manitobans, it's the same story. I mean, I could just run a tape recorder," he said. "They're just frustrated with the health care system in Manitoba, and that is just the simple truth of it." Spielvogel, a trained medical technologist, said he's not in the business for the money.

"The goal is not to be rich. The goal is to provide a service that Manitobans aren't getting, and that's just the bottom line: They cannot get the service right now the way it sits through their physician," he said. "If they just walk into their octor's office, they can't order these tests unless they're symptomatic. Even if they are symptomatic, you know as well as I do what the waiting times are to get these altrasound exams done. They're not eight or 12 weeks, they're more than that — we hear six months, eight months, 10 months from a lot of people."

'Burning up gasoline'

Brian Hanson is heading south to Grand Forks, N.D., with his wife and neighbours on the weekend to go to the clinic. Hanson's family has a history of heart trouble, so "if I can do anything preventative, possibly, that's something I would like to do," he told CBC News. Hanson said he'd have to wait months to have the same tests done in Winnipeg, if he got them at all. "It's a very lengthy process," he said. At the clinic, "it's basically a phone call, get an appointment, and go." It doesn't make much sense for Manitoba Health to outlaw a service that could take some pressure off the health-care system, he said."I think a lot of Winnipeggers are probably going to take advantage of this," he said. "It means that we're just burning up gasoline to go down to Grand Forks and spend our money there." Spielvogel is setting up a shuttle service for clients between Winnipeg and the border town of Pembina, N.D. The service is expected to start in March and will cost an extra $30. Manitoba Health officials say they are trying to arrange a meeting with Spielvogel. In the meantime, they are encouraging Manitobans to have their medical tests done here.

Someone sent me this story in a email. It's one of those stories that you will never see in the left wing hate America first media. Don't count on this story being the lefts leaning CNN (aka Communist News Network or Corrupt News Network), PMSNBC, the LA Times, Washington Compost, Red Star and Sickle (Minneapolis Star and Tribune) or New York Slimes.

It's a tough, but heart warming story...with a picture of John Gebhardt in Iraq. John Gebhardt's wife, Mindy, said that this little girl's entire family was executed. The insurgents intended to execute the little girl also, and shot her in the head...but they failed to kill her. She was cared for in John's hospital and is healing up, but continues to cry and moan. The nurses said John is the only one who seems to calm her down, so John has spent the last four nigh ts holding her while they both slept in that chair. The girl is coming along with her healing.

He is a real Star of the war, and represents what the Western world is trying to do.

Hunting Signs from Peta.

I found this great article on Outdoor U. This is the kind of stuff that makes hunters despise PETA and is also the reason many of us will never give the is ultra-left wing organization any respect.

Craig A. Manock had a great point in the comments section. I believe what Craig said would go a long way in educating the uneducated when it comes to hunting. In other words who better to support the sport than hunters.

believe that if we as hunters want to protect our hunting privileges we need to start educating the non-hunting public about our hunting activities and what we do for wildlife. Without the support of the non-hunting public we will be doomed when it comes to voting on important issues.

The animal rights people are a small percentage of the people in this country and I believe that the average person would be on our side if they knew the truth.

Personally, I feel that there should be a national organization solely dedicated to educating US citizens about the benefits of hunting and to show them what our money does for wildlife. If people knew what the condition of our national wildlife would be in without our money I think we would have a fighting chance. I can't think of another group of people, that put their money where their mouth is when it comes to wildlife conservation, than the sportsman.

2nd Amendment goes to court

This is a very important day for gun owners rights. Our very right to own a firearm might be in jeopardy, if the supreme court rules in favor of gun control instead of gun owners individual rights's.

There is a liberal mind set out there that claims the 2nd Amendment doesn't give gun owners a right to own a fire arm and keep it in their residence. Gun owners all over the United States think otherwise. This basic right should not be infringed upon and is guaranteed by the 2nd amendment. Individual cities like Washington D.C. by denying citizens the right to own a firearm are actually making their citizen less safe because the only ones to own guns will be criminals. I have more faith in a Conservative court under Bush than a Clinton court.

WASHINGTON: Both sides in a closely watched legal battle over the District of Columbia's strict gun-control law are urging the Supreme Court to hear the case. If the justices agree — a step they may announce as early as Tuesday — the Roberts court is likely to find itself back on the front lines of the culture wars with an intensity unmatched even by the cases on abortion and race that defined the court's last term.

The question is whether the Second Amendment to the Constitution protects an individual right to "keep and bear arms." If the answer is yes, as the federal appeals court held in March, the justices must then decide what such an interpretation means for a statute that bars all possession of handguns and that requires any other guns in the home to be disassembled or secured by trigger locks.

The Supreme Court has never answered the Second Amendment question directly, and it has been nearly 70 years since the court even approached it obliquely. A decision in 1939, United States v. Miller, held that a sawed-off shotgun was not one of the "arms" to which the Second Amendment referred in its single, densely written, and oddly punctuated sentence: "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."

Asked during his confirmation hearing what he thought that sentence meant, Chief Justice John Roberts Jr. responded that the Miller decision had "side-stepped the issue" and had left "very open" the question of whether the Second Amendment protects an individual right as opposed to a collective right.

A three-judge panel of the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit, on which the chief justice formerly sat, ruled in March by a vote of 2 to 1 that "the right in question is individual," not tied to membership in a state militia. On that basis, the court declared that the 31-year-old statute, one of the country's strictest, was unconstitutional.

Gun-control advocates have long maintained that the amendment's ambiguous opening reference to a "well regulated Militia" limited its scope to gun ownership in connection with service in a state militia. In the appeals court's view, the clause simply highlighted one of the amendment's "civic purposes." Since the militias of the time included nearly all able-bodied white men, the court said, the amendment served the purpose of assuring that the citizenry would have guns at hand if called up, while also guaranteeing the right to keep arms even if the call never came.

The District of Columbia filed its Supreme Court appeal in September. The statute's challengers, who brought their lawsuit in 2003 for the precise purpose of getting a Second Amendment case before the Supreme Court, promptly agreed that the case merited the justices' attention.

The lawsuit was the creation of a wealthy libertarian, Robert Levy, senior fellow in constitutional studies at the Cato Institute, a prominent libertarian research organization. With the blessing of Cato, Levy financed the lawsuit and recruited six plaintiffs, all of whom wanted to keep handguns in their homes for self-defense. His goal was to present the constitutional issue to the Supreme Court in its most attractive form: not as a criminal appeal, as earlier Second Amendment cases, including the 1939 Supreme Court case, had been, but as an effort by law-abiding citizens to protect themselves. None asserted a desire to carry their weapons outside of their homes.

The strategy was almost too good: the appeals court threw out five of the six plaintiffs for lack of standing, on the ground that their objection to the law was merely abstract. Only one plaintiff remained: Dick Anthony Heller, a security guard at the building that houses the federal judicial system's administrative offices, where he carries a handgun on duty. He had applied for and was denied a license to keep the gun at home. That encounter with the law was sufficiently concrete to give him standing, in the court's view, and to allow the case, now called District of Columbia v. Heller, No. 07-290, to proceed.

Pollution season is over
Winter’s coming to North Dakota, and one sign is the end of the 2007 pollution season on the Sheyenne River. The Water Commission closed our illegal Devil’s Lake outlet today, ending the taint we’ve been seeping into the Red River Valley for a few months. I know I’ll feel better turning on my tap here in Grand Forks.

So you say it is illegal, that is the problem with the hate America first crowd. I bet you didn't know that Devils lake is already over taking Stump lake via/through Black Swan area, have you ever been south of Lakota? Go take a look for yourself. There is a new water way that has been constructed that is now handeling run off from the Devils Lake Basin. The Black Swan area is now twice it size and where do you think this water is going? Go to Google maps Go to Lakota North Dakota and then focus on the area south of Lakota. The lake is now ever bigger than this picture that you see on Google. Stump and when stump lake overflows it will be going into the Sheyenne. Where is that water going? Ding, Ding, Ding... The Red River. So whether your illegal outlet is on or off water from Devils Lake is making its way to the Red River.

Lastly, If you don't believe what I am saying go look for your selves. I always laugh when I hear people say that water is trickling from Devils Lake, it's been trickling for some time now...
